Hello! I’m Brianna Mercado. I’m a dancer, choreographer, and educator, based in New York City.
I earned my B.A. in Dance & Performance Studies and Social Welfare from the University of California Berkeley and a certification in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University.
Most recently, I worked on the movement sequences for Floyd Collins at the Lincoln Center alongside Jon Rua. Proud moments have also included choreographing a piece for the Public Theater’s Mobile Unit: A Comedy of Errors and choreographing a new show for Azamara Cruises. When I am not in rehearsals, I teach classes at Peridance Center, CAP21/Molloy University, and Broadway Dance Center. I am currently seeking future collaborations in choreography and dance education.
I consider myself an expert in the art of optimism and resiliency. I plan to use (in the words of Mary Oliver) my one wild and precious life to create impactful art, dance many dances, decrease World Suck Levels, and empower people to live a life they love.
My dream is to always be involved with work that uplifts and inspires the world for future generations. Thank you for coming to see what I am up to. May our paths cross soon.
love and light,
Bri
